About the lab
What is TetraGammaTron Labs?
TetraGammaTron Labs is a small independent studio that builds software and provides services in three areas: medical education (CME grant writing, outcomes reporting, meeting platforms), data and simulation (biostatistics, NBA analytics), and focused software (bench utilities, developer tools, custom builds). Oren Fugón, MD-PhD, runs it. More about the lab.
What does the name mean?
TetraGammaTron is a play on Tetragrammaton, the Greek term for “the four-letter name,” which refers to YHWH. It combines “tetra” (Greek for four) with “gamma” (a symbol tied to science and math) plus “tron” (a suffix that suggests machines and technology). Under the work sit three more Greek roots: gnosis (knowledge), kodikos (code), and iatros (physician-healer). The longer version is on the About page.
Who does the work?
Oren Fugón, MD-PhD, holds an MD and a PhD in Integrative Genetics and Genomics from UC Davis. He has a first-author paper in Human Molecular Genetics, a co-authored paper in Genome Biology, an authored and funded Biogen-supported research grant, an authored NIH F31 application, and two NIH T32 training-grant appointments. One person writes the code, runs the statistics, and ships the products. Nothing gets handed to a junior team. See the full research record.

What can I hire the lab for?
CME grant writing from needs assessment through submission, biostatistics and outcomes reporting, custom software and data tools, web design and front-end builds, and AI media production. A job can be a single deliverable or a full multi-meeting cycle or a product built from nothing. See the services page.
How does an engagement work?
You send the scope, deadline, and constraints. You get back a concrete scope, a timeline, and a price. Nothing starts without a written agreement. Work happens in passes you can review, so grants go through successive reviewer-pass revisions and software arrives as working builds. You never get handed a black box. Final deliverables come with the methods and assumptions written down. The full process is on the services page.

Medical education and CME
What makes this CME grant writing different?
It comes from an MD-PhD who has authored a funded industry research grant and an NIH F31 fellowship application, and who runs the biostatistics himself. Learning Objectives get framed against documented practice gaps instead of boilerplate. Every citation is NLM-formatted, full-text verified, and audited for sponsor bias. If it can't be verified on its own, it gets cut.
What does CMEye do?
CMEye takes CME pre-test, post-test, and evaluation files and produces grantor-ready outcomes reports: the right statistical test for the data, effect sizes next to p-values, charts, and formatted Word, PowerPoint, and Excel deliverables. It handles the reporting step that usually eats a week of an education director’s time.
Can the lab handle a whole meeting, not just the grant?
Yes. CMExpo is a custom iOS CME meeting platform with a full API for organizers and partners, and it pairs with CMEye so the evaluation data captured on-site flows straight into the outcomes report. A conversation about your meeting and your accreditor is the place to start.
Methods and models
What is Monte Carlo simulation?
Instead of deriving a probability with algebra, you let the scenario play out thousands of times with random inputs and count how often each outcome occurs. The fraction of runs where a thing happened is its probability, to within a shrinking margin of error. It powers the lab’s analytics tools, like TankOdds. How It Works explains it further.
Why report a distribution instead of a single number?
A single number hides how uncertain it is. Saying a team is "projected to pick 4th" tells you nothing about whether picks 1 through 7 are all live. Saying "22% chance at pick 4, with everything from 1 to 7 in play" gives you the shape you actually need to make a decision.
Can a model be wrong?
Of course. A model is only as good as its assumptions. Get them wrong, say the sample doesn't represent the population, and the simulation converges beautifully on the wrong answer. Precision and accuracy are not the same thing. Every model the lab ships states its assumptions so you can judge them.
Products, privacy, and support
Do the lab's apps collect my data?
The apps keep your data on your device. BurnGauge reads local usage files and never transmits them. SpliTTime and MoleMixr do their arithmetic on-device. See the privacy policy.
